Dr Sibghat Ullah Ghaznawi

Dr. Sibghatullah Ghaznawi is the current Director of Tarzi Research Foundation. His major areas of expertise are good governance, policy & program development and institutional reforms. Previously, he has worked as the Director of Local Stability at the Office of National Security Council of Afghanistan, Director of Local Programs Coordination Department at IDLG and Executive Director of the Citizen Charter National Priority Program. Dr. Ghaznawi is a Fulbright Alumni, holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Georgetown University and a Professional Development Certificate in Policy Development from Johns Hopkins University. He has contributed to numerous surveys, studies and policy formulation on local stability, community development and peacebuilding in Afghanistan. He has contributed to the evaluation of the New Development Partnership and assisted SIGAR’s lessons-learned report on Governance & Stability Programs. Before joining TRF, he was the Director of Kabul Center for Policy and Strategy.

Deputy Director

Dawood Mohammadi

Dawood Mohammadi is a Deputy Director of the Tarzi Research Foundation with an experience in Advocacy and Research. Mr. Mohammadi specializes in Geopolitics, Afghan Peace Process and Afghanistan’s Foreign Affairs. He served as the Director of Afghan Leadership Academy at HASSC, a Research Fellow at ICS, a Research Associate at GDK and a Public Relations Coordinator at Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad. His research covered ‘Geopolitics in Wakhan Corridor; The Role of Border Fencing in COIN; Regional Cooperation in South Asia; and China’s Afghan Policy.’ Mohammadi holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science from Abdul Wali Khan University, Pakistan and a Master degree in International Relations from the South Asian University, India.

Zia Wadan is an accomplished Afghan journalist and public relations expert with a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from Sheikh Zayed University, Khost. He brings extensive experience in journalism and public communications, having worked with multiple government departments and prominent media outlets. Zia has also managed social media engagement projects in collaboration with national consulting firms. Currently, he serves as the Media Affairs and Public Education Training Manager at Tarzi Research Organization, where he leads initiatives to enhance public awareness and engagement.

Salahuddin Darwish

Salahuddin Darwish is a development trainer and researcher with nearly 16 years of experience working with aid community in Afghanistan. He has worked on projects related to advocacy, human security, community development, peacebuilding and conflict resolution and civil society development. He is currently working as Research Specialist at Tarzi Research Foundation. He has a Bachelor degree in Political Science from Kabul University. He has completed number of research projects: ‘The Rise & Fall of Islamic State-Khorasan in Nangarhar; Drivers of radicalization 2009, Road Map to Peace in Afghanistan; Comparative Role of Islamic Sharia & Pashtunwali in conflict-resolution in Afghanistan.'
